Post Date:01/09/2026 12:34 PM

Project Update

The project, which was voted and approved via TSPLOST referendum in 2021, consists of demolishing and relocating Hamilton Boulevard to align with Kincaid Avenue at the intersection of E. College street. The intersection will turn into a 4-way stop once the project is complete. While the roadway is under construction, the contractor will replace the current 18-inch storm pipe system and two catch basins along with the installation of 1,661 linear feet of 12" C900 PVC water main. A new 5-foot sidewalk will be constructed along Hamilton Boulevard from E. College Street to Memorial Drive (HWY. 16). A pedestrian bridge with concrete abutments will be installed over the Grape Creek crossing located on Hamilton Boulevard. Paving will also take place on Hamilton Boulevard from E. College Street to the City of Griffin city limits. Additionally, the contractor will be installing 2,450 linear feet of 5-foot sidewalk and related grading on E. College Street from Finley Street to Morningside Drive.
