
On August 8, 2023, the City of Griffin Board of Commissioners voted to amend the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 90, Traffic and Vehicles, Articles III, Speed Zones, Section 90-61, Speed Zones Enumerated, to reflect the updated school zones times requested by the Griffin-Spalding County School System and the modified speed limit at the Crescent Road School Zone per the Georgia Department of Transportation. Please note the maximum speed limit change at the Crescent Road School Zone from 25 mph to 30 mph. The E. Poplar Street School Zone, Old Taylor Middle School, has also been removed.

As the City of Griffin, our primary responsibility is to those who live, work, visit, or otherwise come in contact with our City. In providing this information in partnership with the Griffin-Spalding County School System and Georgia Department of Transportation, we aim to help communicate this change to keep students safe in our community while traveling to and from school. At this time, school zone signage is being updated and replaced by the City of Griffin Sign Shop and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
