  1. Recognize Garry Slaton, Mechanic with the Motor Pool, as the May 2014 "Strongest Link" award recipient. Central Services Director Phill Francis will address.  
         
  2. Present results of the 2014 SPLOST survey.  Citizen Engagement Specialist Alvin Huff will address.  
         
  3. Update City Commission on approved design of downtown street configuration for Downtown LCI.   Director of Public Works and Utilities Dr. Brant D. Keller will address.  
         
  4. Review Financials for April 2014.  Chief Financial Officer Markus Schwab will address.

CITIZEN COMMENTS

 
         
At this time, the Chairperson opens the floor to comments from the audience. Comments should relate to a specific agenda item, not listed on the agenda for a Public Hearing, or to a concern within the jurisdiction of the City. Commission meetings serve the purpose of conducting city business and are not a forum for the unlimited expression of opinion. The Chairperson reserves the right to limit comments to matters germane to city business and may refer speakers to the City Manager or other staff for resolution.
 
         
 
         

PUBLIC HEARINGS

 
         
Public Hearings are conducted to allow public comment on specific advertised issues such as rezoning, ordinances, policy development, operating budgets and other legislative actions to be considered by the City Commission.
 
         
  5. Receive comments regarding the proposed budgets for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014 and ending June 30, 2015. Chief Financial Officer Markus Schwab will address.  
         
 
         

CONSENT AGENDA

 
         
  6. Consider approval of Minutes of the Workshop on May 27, 2014 and Minutes of Regular Scheduled Meeting on May 27, 2014.  
         
 
         

REGULAR AGENDA

 
         
The Regular Agenda includes items on which the Commission will individually consider and possibly take action.
 
         
  7. Consider approval of a Resolution adopting the annual Fiscal Year 2014–2015 Operating Budget appropriating expenditures and projected revenues for specified purposes, functions and activities by fund for the budget period and the Capital Improvement Program. Director of Administrative Services Markus Schwab will address.  
         
  8. Consider the purchase of 2 (two) new vehicles to be assigned to Criminal Investigation and Special Investigative Unit;  declare Units 274 and 1204 as surplus for sale on GovDeals.com.   Chief Steven D. Heaton will address.  
         
  9. Consider a professional services agreement with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. for the water and wastewater department of the Public Works and Utilities Department.  Director of Public Works & Utilities Dr. Brant D. Keller will address.  
         
  10. Consider continuation of warranty services agreement with Utility Service Partners, Inc. for providing to the general public a warranty program for water service lines and wastewater collection lines to citizens.   Director of Public Works & Utilities Dr. Brant D. Keller will address.  
         
  11. Consider approval of annual mass water meter purchase with Delta Municipal Supply Company, Inc. for the water and wastewater department of the Public Works and Utilities Department.  Director of Public Works & UtilitiesDr. Brant D. Keller will address.  
         
  12. Consider a Lease Agreement between the City of Griffin and Tru-Check, Inc. for a twelve (12) month lease of 293 square feet refered to as Suite 114 in One Griffin Center in the amount of $6,837.48 per year. City Manager Kenny Smith will address.  
         
 
         

CITY MANAGER'S REPORT

 
         
The City Manager will update the Commission on pending items, upcoming workshops, meetings, conferences and other pertinent issues.
 
         
 
         

CITY COMMISSIONER COMMENTS

 
         
Commissioners will provide updates regarding issues of interest from their respective districts and/or committee reports.
