The Citizens Government Academy is a free program designed to give citizens a working knowledge of the City of Griffin and will teach them how to better understand the intricacies of local government.

If you are interested in attending the academy, applications will be accepted starting in July. Citizen's Government Academy application form. You also may pick up an application between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday at: Griffin City Hall 100 South Hill Street
The Griffin Citizens Academy will consist of 10 two hour and fifteen minute sessions that will focus on specific areas of city operations.
Each meeting will be facilitated by the Department Director in charge of the subject area. The lessons will be taught through lecture as well as field trips.
