Purchasing

The Purchasing Department provides services to all City departments by planning, organizing, and directing purchasing activities in accordance with the federal, state and local ordinances governing purchasing. Our goal is to promote fair and open competition in the procurement of quality goods and services necessary to support the operations of the City while maintaining high standards of ethical conduct and professionalism.

How to do business with the City

The first step to selling goods or services to the City is to register as a Vendor with the City. This is done by submitting the following completed forms and affidavits to the purchasing department: Vendor Registration, W-9, E-Verify affidavit and S.A.V.E. (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) affidavit. The commodity codes on the registration form are required and allow for you to receive bid notifications among other uses. The City uses the 3-digit NIGP commodity code list which is available as a drop-down selection on the form. The City will send a notification e-mail to the address on the registration when a bid is published for any of the commodity codes listed. The City will make every attempt to notify registered bidders of bid opportunities, but cannot guarantee notification of individual bid opportunities. Bids are posted on this website and notification links are posted on GLGA Marketplace and Georgia Procurement Registry. There is also an RSS feed subscription available for notification of all bids. We recommend that one or more of these sources is checked periodically.
