NOTICE OF VACANCIES ON CITY OF GRIFFIN APPOINTED BODIES

Vacancies will occur on the following City Boards effective January 2013.  Interested persons may apply or nominate appointees by completing a “Nomination for Appointment” form and submitting it to the City Manager’s Office no later than 12 noon, Friday, January 4, 2013.  Forms may be obtained at Griffin City Hall, 100 South Hill Street, or by visiting the City of Griffin Web Page at www.cityofgriffin.com.  Forms may be accompanied by resumes and references at the discretion of the nominee / nominator.

Griffin-Spalding Hospital Authority – 4 year terms – meets monthly

Griffin-Spalding Development Authority – 3 year terms – meets monthly

Griffin Housing Authority – 5 year terms – meets monthly

Griffin – Spalding Area Transportation Committee – annual appointments – meets monthly

Spalding Collaborative Authority – 2 year terms – meets monthly

Three Rivers Board of Directors – annual appointment – meets every other month

City of Griffin Planning & Zoning Board* – District 3 and District 6 - 3 year terms - Members are appointed by Commissioner of each District – meets monthly

City of Griffin Tree Board* – annual appointments – meets monthly

Griffin Downtown Development Authority – 4 year terms – meets monthly

Historic Preservation Commission – 3 year terms

Main Street Program – 3 year terms – meets monthly

Griffin-Spalding Land Bank Authority – 4 year terms

*(Nominations are accepted for this appointment however, since it is made by a specific Commissioner for his / her district, it is not required to meet the process requirements of the adopted policy).

Nominees must be willing and able to attend meetings.

Appointees must be able to review multifaceted material and make complex decisions.
