The Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.) is responsible for all narcotics and vice investigations within the city of Griffin. The unit is comprised of Lt. Mike Richardson, Sgt. Curtis Keys, Cpl. Tishe Dyer, and Cpl. Drew Jackson. Methamphetamine production is a trend that is expected to continue as the “Meth Lab Problem” continues to increase in the Southern part of the United States. This unit investigates and prosecutes all illegal drug activity within the City of Griffin. This unit also works with other surrounding narcotics units, state agencies, and federal authorities. They are also called upon to investigate prostitution, gambling, and illegal alcohol sales.
