Responsibilities

The Economic Development Division provides services to stimulate economic development via attracting new businesses and retaining the existing businesses in the city.

Our Economic Development Division actively recruits new companies to relocate to the region by marketing to and working directly with corporate executives and relocation consultants.

Goals & Objectives

  • Expand and Diversify the economic base of the City of Griffin
  • Promote and expand upon the Tourism resources of the City of Griffin
  • Work with other local, state, regional, and non-profit organizations to consider the revitalization of the business districts of the City of Griffin where investment is not occurring and have redevelopment potentials.

     

Strategic Location

Strategically located between Atlanta and Macon, Griffin has much to offer new or relocating businesses-an available and affordable workforce, UGA-Griffin Campus and Griffin Technical College located within the City limits, over approximately 900 acres of Business and Industrial parks, a strong school system, solid utility infrastructure and low cost of doing business.
