Dark exteriors invite vandalism and create a sense of insecurity for customers, employees and homeowners. Security lighting installed and maintained by Griffin Power can provide peace of mind when things go bump in the night.

Security lighting is available to the entire area served by Griffin Power over existing retail lines where 120/240 or 120/180 volt service is available, without installing special distribution transformers.

Installation Charges
Where there is an existing pole at an appropriate location with adequate room to mount a fixture there will be no installation charge, provided it is not necessary to install more than one span of supply circuitry per fixture.

When it is necessary to set poles, the customer shall make a contribution in aid of construction in the amount of $110.00 per pole for wood poles and $600.00 per pole for decorative concrete poles. When it is necessary to install over 200 feet of overhead circuitry per fixture, the customer shall make a contribution in aid of construction of $50.00 per 200 foot span. For decorative lighting, the customer shall make a contribution of $1.00 per foot from the available power source for the installation of underground cable. In all such cases, the installation shall remain the property of the City and shall be maintained by the City.

Applicability
Terms and rates are available only under long-term contracts for security lighting of customer property by means of luminaries supported by short brackets mounted on wood poles owned by the City. In all cases, the luminaire, bracket and control equipment shall be installed, owned and maintained by the City. Where the use of poles other than wood is desired by the customer, he shall install, own and maintain such poles with appropriate luminaire brackets, and the City shall install, own and maintain the overhead conductors and lighting equipment. Where the use of underground conductors is desired by the customers, he shall install, own and maintain the underground conductors, the risers up the pole and the bracket wiring. Security lighting will be provided only at locations which are accessible to City trucks for servicing purposes. No security lights fixtures will be installed in locations which might be confused with regular street lighting by the general public.

note: The word "maintain" as it applies to security lighting covered by this schedule is defined to mean the replacement of lamps and glassware as soon as can reasonably be done after notification to the City by the customer that service has been interrupted. However, the customer may be required to reimburse the City for the cost of any such maintenance which is required because of vandalism.
