We are proud to be the first city in Georgia to mandate recycling. 
Residents are serviced Monday through Thursday with both curbside garbage and recycling pickup on the same day. Click here for our Pick Up Procedures.
Yard Waste (grass clippings, twigs, brush and leaves) are picked up approximately every two weeks on a North/South route.
Holiday changes to the pick up schedule are posted here in the announcements section and flyers are placed on containers on the pick up immediately before the holiday.
We accept non-recyclable household garbage (click here for a list of acceptable recyclables) and sanitary waste in City issued containers. Garbage must be bagged. We cannot accept carpet, padding, construction materials, paint, tires, batteries, light bulbs or funiture for curbside pick up. Please call us at 770-229-6421 for guidance with these items.

What is recycling?
Recycling is a series of activities that includes collecting recyclable materials that would otherwise be considered waste, sorting and processing recyclables into raw materials such as fibers, and manufacturing raw materials into new products.

Recycling Process
There are three steps to the recycling process. Collecting and processing secondary materials, manufacturing recycled-content products, and then purchasing recycled products. When these steps are followed this creates a circle or loop that ensures the overall success and value of recycling.

Opportunities
For recycling to work, everyone has to participate in each phase of the loop. From government and industry, to organizations, small businesses, and people at home, every American can make recycling a part of their daily routine.
